During Sunday Religious Growth and Learning children who have been attending are reminded of our overall theme this year of The Gifts of Our Faith. We start by talking about our theme of the month; October’s being The Gift of Heritage/Roots!
Then our focus of the Sunday is introduced. They take guesses what is in the gift box relating to our topic and then enjoy opening the Gift Box to view what is inside. I find most children are eager to share their thoughts in our discussion. I am amazed by their comments and shared experiences on each topic. Please remember to sign in your child each week at the welcome table so we know who will be in class each Sunday. Registration forms will be completed in October so that we have a better idea of the ages and number of children attending each Sunday. The RGL committee will hold a meeting on Sunday, October 8, 11:20am after the service. Anyone interested in RGL is welcome to attend; childcare will be available.  Welcome back to the new Fellowship year! I hope everyone had a great summer and are ready for a new beginning at HUUF. We held two activities for children this summer during the Circle Conversations the adults held in June and July. New friendships were made, and overall I think the children were happy seeing their HUUF friends. I am looking forward to hearing the children’s stories of their summer adventures when we begin meeting each Sunday this Fellowship year.
This year’s overall theme for RGL is The Gifts of Our Faith. We will focus on ten beloved UU values and explore their potential to shape us and, in turn, shape the world. September will begin with children exploring The Gifts of Welcome. Each Sunday includes an exploration of what it means to approach each other and life itself with the spirit of welcome. Classes for children will take place at 10am during the worship service. We start at the service and then leave for class after the Story For All Ages. Childcare for children not attending RGL during the service will be available in the Childcare Room from 9:50am to 11:15am. Please sign in your child/ren each Sunday at the Welcome table or Childcare Room. The RGL committee will have their first meeting later in September after we have a better idea of RGL attendance for this year.
